data acquired on July 14, 1995 at 2:45am. The temperatures
vary from 38 to 104 degree F, with red: 98-104; orange:
92-97; yellow: 86-91; green: 80-85; cyan: 74-79; magenta:
68-73; blue: 62-67; and black: < 61. (A) Scottsdale airport.
Note the higher temperatures associated with large amounts
of pavement in contrast to the cooler undeveloped lands to
the NW. Metal-roofed buildings have the lowest temperatures
in the image. (B) Mixed residential region to the SE
of Mountain View and Scottsdale Roads. Note the significantly
lower temperatures due to a much higher percentage of
vegetation and lakes (golf courses). |
