Figure 4.  Digitial aerial photographic mosaic composited using data acquired during a balloon test flight over the "American Flag" fire scar in the eastern portion of the NE Phoenix, AZ study site. Images at this high resolution provide for easy discrimination of vegetation types, subtle drainage patterns, and burn extents.  Here, a burn/non-burn boundary is observed (right-center), and higher vegetation regrowth in a burned wash (left-center) is visible.
