Figure 5a.  Acquisition of visible/near infrared (VNIR) spectrum a large sandy-bottom (see inset) wash bisecting the Cave Creek scar.  Data were collected using the ASD 1143 field spectrometer, which gathers spectra at 4 wavenumber resolution from 350 - 950 nanometers (see Figure 5b below).  Field spectra will be used to analyze surface material as well as perform vicarious calibration of the ASTER data.
